Does God Exist to Make You Comfortable?

>> Monday, October 12, 2009

Over the weekend, I purchased my tickets to see Donald Miller and Susan Isaacs in Nashville in November.

If you read my review of A Million Miles In A Thousand Years, you know I'm a Donald Miller fan.

However, I am equally anxious to hear Susan Isaacs speak about her book,
Angry Conversations With God: A Snarky but Authentic Spiritual Memoir.

Susan captures a message that God seems to be trying to hammer into our comfortable middle-class lives today.

When you talk with God, how honest are you? How willing are you to hear his real answers?

Good questions!

It's very easy to just toss our 'needs' at God and carry on without waiting for the reply and then tell people we're 'trusting God' for the answer!

Thanks for sharing this!

Exactly - we treat God like some kind of magic charm. Thanks for you comment, Peter!
